Optimization of chip repose angle in dry hobbing machine considering minimum thermal accumulation on workbench

The thermal deformation problem is quite serious for the workbench of environmental dry hobbing machine due to accumulation hot chips. A better understanding quantity and optimization chip repose angle necessary reduce deformation. Hence, this paper focuses on modeling machine. Firstly, dynamic flow characteristics chips are clarified by analyzing generation mechanism motion trajectory hobbing. Then, mathematically characterized with consideration rolling characteristics, which a model established minimizing workbench, method proposed based intelligent algorithm. Finally, effectiveness analyzed through simulation experiment automotive reverse gear. results show that maximum overall reduced 8 μm skewness 32% spindle help method. study provides an effective solution quantitative analysis optimal design
